MMP has the best turbo bang for your buck for your N54, TD04HL-19T with true 19T native compressor housing. These turbos are capable of 700whp+ on the N54 and at just $3000 its a bargain and they bolt right up to your N54. The 19T compressor wheel is a forged billet wheel with extended tip technology from BorgWarner and with 11 blades made in the GTX style. The Turbo consist of a TD04 bearing housing modified to connect to stock oil lines, coolant lines and stock turbine housing. The turbine housing has been modified to accept the TD04HL turbine and flange up to the TD04 bearing housing. The kit requires upgraded inlet pipe system and also intercooler charge pipe system optimized for the high flowing native 19T compressor housing which is over twice the size/flow of stock compressor housing. This will make sure the turbos are flowing to their maximum potential along with the upgraded plumbing for the turbo.
Compressor wheel is 46mm inducer 11 blade. Turbine wheel is 46mm exducer 9 blade.
The turbos are made from a full native TD04 bearing housing with upgraded TD04 thrust bearings which include double the surface area for the stock TD03 thrust bearings (that's 100% more) than the stock bearing system. Other popular hybrid turbo manufacturers luse a stock TD03 bearing housing with TD03 journal and thrust bearing components and smaller TD03 shaft size and just cram much larger turbine and compressor wheels in stock compressor housings and stock bearing housings never meant for the small TD03 shaft size and small TD03 journal and thrust bearing components. This can lead to shafts breaking and premature wear of the thrust bearing causing smoking issues on the turbos. All these issues that give hybrid turbos a bad name on the N54 due to improper design has been solved in the brand new TD04 bearing housings from MMP. The MMP design uses a thrust plate with 2 oiling ports vs one in the standard thrust plate and also the thrust washer and collar have 2x the surface area of the TD03 components, this is why they are MUCH more reliable then those other offerings. These great upgraded and reliable thrust components for 30psi+ are included standard with no extra charge in all MMP turbos.
Dyno results: I have achieved these results and so have my customers validating the results
at 13psi - 478whp
at 17psi - 500whp
at 21psi - 575whp
at 27psi - 675whp
at 29psi - 700whp
at 30psi - 710whp
at 29/30psi the turbos are only at 50% WGDC and flowing very efficiently as proof by the low WGDC. The turbos will flow 35psi at 60% WGDC and still will have more left in them so not sure what the max power limit is but I predict 730-740whp.
In th Dyno graph the only reason the powersips a little at the end is because the tube itself had boost tapering from 30psi to 27psi, but the turbos can hold the power perfectly fine to redline.
If you are wondering what you can achieve with your setup (I get this question all the time, here is what you should know. You will basically be limited by your fuel flow setup, more whp requires more fuel flow and also more octane when going over 550whp
- On 93 octane with the stock fuel system it will support 400whp
- with a Stage 1 Low Pressure Fuel Pump (LPFP) 255 inline and 93oct you can make 470whp
- With a stage 2 LPFP and 93 octane it can support 530whp
- With a stage Stage 2 LPFP (walbro 450) and E50 (50% ethanol and 50% 93 oct) fuel mix you can make 650whp
- With Stage 3 LPFP and Port Injection it can support 720whp
- With meth it depends on how much meth you are spraying as you start to rely on it for fuel but you could make any other numbers above including close to 700whp with meth depending on how much meth you spray and your tuning
- any other fuel mixes or fuel system setups, I dont know so please dont ask

SPECIAL NOTE: these turbos require upgraded 2" connection inlets (either the relocation ones or one piece OEM location ones) and MMP 2" outlets outlets and WONT WORK without them as they will not be able to connect to the small stock plumbing (which would severely choke these turbos anyway). You can use other 2" inlets but as MMP has the only 2" outlets on the market you need to use MMP 2" outlets, either way they are the cheapest and best ;) If you previously purchased MMP aluminum inlets and/or outlets, THEY WILL WORK with these turbos and upgraded adapters for the inlets you have already will be included for free with the turbo purchase, just let me know and I will include them.

I believe in WPC Bearing treatment and the large size upgraded thrust bearings in my turbos so much that I am now offering 1 year additional extended warranty for a total for 2 yrs of warranty for anyone that gets WPC treated bearings in their turbos,
only available to the original owner unless specifically allowed by MMP written email to transfer the warranty.
My thrust Bearings have 2X more surface area than competitors large size hybrids that use TD03 center sections so it makes them much more suited for high power and abuse and why my turbos are bullet proof along with the high flowing compressor housing.
I plan to carry a stock inventory so that there is no waiting from when turbos are purchased to when they are shipped and delivered promptly to your doorstep to burn that rubber :)
if you previously purchased MMP inlets or MMP outlets, they will work for these turbos, just let me know you already have them and I will include the adapter couplers for free for the inlets, the outlets work by just removing the CNC adapter :)
fits all model series BMWs with an N54 engine including all 1 series, 3 series, 5 series, X series, and z4 series with an N54.
*will fit on RHD but required outlets will require significant modification to work.
